What to Bring?

Stroller Friendly? Yes!

Bathroom Spots

Public Bathrooms at Spruce & College (Urban Trail Stop #23)

We had the perfect weather for an afternoon in Asheville! Arriving around lunchtime, our first stop was Mellow Mushroom. I know, you are thinking...what makes Mellow Mushroom so special? We don’t usually choose chains, but the outdoor dining area right in the middle of downtown & the funky eclectic atmosphere made it the perfect kid-friendly lunch spot. Plus, what kid doesn’t love pizza?!

The best way to see the rest of the downtown area was the Urban Trail! It was short walk from the restaurant to where it begins in Pack Square. There are 30 statues positioned throughout downtown Asheville, each sharing the history of the city! You can use the interactive map to read along the way or follow along with the audio tour. We made it a fun scavenger hunt for our toddler & she loved helping us find each new thing! There’s a great website to help you follow the trail and if you have children a little older than ours, there‘s a fun, kid friendly guide! Plus, we found a GREAT toy store along the way, Curio, which we popped in & found a fun Mermaid bath toy that was a hit at the hotel pool!
